We are excited to offer this beautiful and rare 1937 Ford ½ ton Pick Up which has been owned by the seller for over 62 years!
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This truly stunning ’37 Ford truck is one of those special cars!
The popularity of vintage Pick Up trucks with collectors worldwide is well established. These beautiful little trucks remind us of a simpler time, when things were moving at a slower pace. They represent America’s farmland, hard work and long days. Many of these trucks have been destroyed during their work life, but some survived and found collectors and enthusiasts that cared for them.
Our beautiful ‘37 Ford has a wonderful story to tell. It was found in 1959 sitting in a field near Watsonville, CA. Don and Barbara stopped, walked over to the nearby gas station, gathered the info of the owner and consequently bought the truck, towed it home, restored it and kept it ever since. Don used this Pick as a daily driver for 15 years and in the 70’s it was repainted and restored for the first time.
Then in 2002, Don took the truck completely apart and did a frame off, full restoration on it. The result is nothing short of amazing and the truck still shows like a show truck today. Finished in Ford Toreador Red and contrasting black fenders with grey upholstery, the truck looks simply stunning. So much so, that it got two first place showings at the Bishop Fall colors car show in 2003 and 2007.
It has a 239 Flathead V8 coupled with a standard 4 speed tranny. The engine runs so smooth and has a nice rumble to it and the truck runs and drives just perfect.
Unfortunately, Don passed away and Barbara, his lovely wife is now selling their beloved “baby”. This truck has been with the family since 1959, over 62 years!! Their daughter grew up in the truck and there are many stories and photos, fantastic memorabilia and documentation that comes with this Pick Up. Among the documentation are original California registration receipts dating back to 1956.
The truck was recently serviced by classic Ford expert Eric Guilloz of Eagle Automotive in Grass Valley, who can attest to the outstanding condition of this truck.
A rare opportunity for the serious collector and enthusiast!
